Hello,
I’ve had a productive week over here at my writing desk. Okay, it’s just my laptop and right now I’m on the couch with it so, out goes the romantic notion that writers need a beautiful room overlooking the ocean to be productive. We don’t.
But, a nice glass of Basil Hayden with a fat ice cube and a quiet Friday night is good for the soul. The distant hum of activity outside, a warm house, and a dog by my side. You can’t ask for much more, am I right?
I couldn’t decide which article to send you this week so I am linking them both. I’ve included the friend link to Medium so you can get right through and you won’t have to worry about the paywall if you’re not a member of Medium. Articles look fantastic on Medium so I may do more of this in the future. Let me know how you like it.
April has surprised me again this year, as she does every year. This month always comes up so quickly and catches me off guard. I walk outside and flowers are blooming all over. You think I’d get used to it and be ready by now but every year I think, wow - it’s here already.
I have nothing planned this month so I will try to take more moments in the sunshine. Drink in the season that is spring. Enjoy the days getting longer. Play ball with the dog in the courtyard.
Do the same, would ya’? I know we’re all in a hurry to get back to the “normal” rush but a few minutes in nature will do you good and it won’t make you too late for whatever you have planned.
Okay, on to the good stuff…
This first article is about not rushing. When you slow down you are more productive. A good reminder with spring here. The natural energy of spring is an increase in activity, which can be great, but try to not let it dominate you.
This other article is about getting rid of cute nicknames for female leaders. Man, I hate that. A couple founders are at the forefront and have sparked a much larger discussion. Check it out.
Female Leaders Would like a Word
Have a fantastic holiday weekend everyone. Happy Easter, if you’re into celebrating, have fun.
I hope that you find peace over the next week with your feet up in your favorite place. That’s where I hope to be. Take a moment of stillness. Peace and love.
Safe Travels,
Kit
