After a Kermit-gif-filled text thread with one of my favorite people, I stopped to think awhile about The Muppets.
The Muppets were a solid fixture of my childhood, and I still get nostalgic when I see them featured on commercials today. I LOVE THE MUPPETS.
As if that all-cap, bold sentence didn’t convince you, I’ll tell you why.
The Muppets are a rag-tag group. Everyone is radically different, has weird personality quirks, and yet they love and support each other fiercely. Animal speaks no words, and they understand him. His band is made up of laid-back hippies who just want to jam.
Kermit is in charge of logistics, Fozzie Bear is the emotional support for the group, and Miss Piggy is a temperamental diva. Together, they are unstoppable.
That’s how I felt leading teams. We were just a rag-tag group of misfits, but we were able to accomplish anything.
Take a look around you. Your family or your friends may feel like this too. I hope they do; it’s the best feeling ever.
It was a weird week for me. My crypto work got pushed a little later in the week, so I’m trying to re-prioritize everything. It’s okay - it will get there. Just after I replace these weird-ass lights in my bathroom…okay - ready!
I had someone reach out to me via LinkedIn to do other freelance work. I’m just telling you this to reinforce the fact that you should show up every day as your authentic self. I’ve been able to secure freelance work without any cold pitching, and my profile picture on LinkedIn is this…
…right? I’m not in a suit with my arms crossed. I’m not smiling. I made that my profile pic because I was so tired that day and I figured if I could get through that, I could get through anything. I didn’t want to forget that feeling - ever.

I love this sentence! If you asked me to sum up most of my career, I'd just point to this. So many gate crews that had no business being on the same teams, yet worked so well together.
Also: "Rainbow Connection" may or may not make me tear up.
