Hey Travelers,
I am hitting the road this month for a new adventure. I will be on the move and not sure how much time I will have to dedicate to the keyboard. I may be able to send out a newsletter as I travel but I may not. I don’t like to make promises I can’t keep so keep an eye on your inbox - I will be back for sure in August.
I did something this morning that I haven’t done in over a year. I stood in line at a donut shop. An old-school, tiny donut shop with giant photos of their food lining the wall and the nicest ladies behind the counter. Customers walked out with their pink boxes filled with sugary treats.
It felt so good to be back standing in a line just people-watching. I walked the case, unsure of what to order. Old-fashioned or maple bar? Decisions! I chose the maple bar (never a bad choice). I drove down the road and picked up a cold brew from a local coffee shop and my morning was made.
I won’t need a donut for another year probably but that’s not the point. Treat yourself! To something unnecessary. To something frivolous. To something fun and cheap. Leave early in the morning and take a drive. Get a dose of cool fresh air on your skin. Leave your phone in your pocket and look around. Stare off in the distance. Take a break. That’s what summers are for.
Wear shorts, wear a tank top. Who cares what you look like? Go without makeup. Wear a hat, stay hydrated, feel the grass under your feet. You can always get back to work later. It will always be there.
Enjoy July, everyone. Enjoy it because it is truly summer. Enjoy the sun and the monsoons and the late days. Enjoy the sunlight until 8pm. Take it all in. Until next time.
Peace,
Kit
Thanks for the donut story and happy travels!!!
