I don’t have all the answers, far from it.
I don’t understand why some people gobble up power and money and resort to destruction. It doesn’t make any sense to me. It never will.
Naive hope was what I had in my heart for Ukraine. Maybe Russia wouldn’t act. Perhaps other countries could intervene. Of course, I was wrong. And so, it was with a great deal of sadness that I watched Russia start a war on Thursday.
There I sat, with my computer on my couch - safe. Why me? Why not me? There are no answers. What I do know is that breaks are paramount, and we all need one. It also helps to state when the world feels as though it’s on fire, and it currently feels that way.
This is difficult and sad, and it’s okay to feel that way and acknowledge it.
Take a walk outside. Turn off your phone. Get lost in a book - a physical book with pages - it’s divine. I am pretty terrible about this, taking breaks, that is. I push and push until I can think no more.
I advocate for this because I’m bad at it. It helps remind me. Once a week, I try to zone out on a silly movie, even one I’ve seen before, because it lets my brain wander away. My brain gets to take a little nap on a grassy hill surrounded by flowers and put her feet up.
This week was productive. I accomplished a few crypto articles and worked on healing my body - so some good things. I have a few Medium articles still in the works, but here are the published ones.

There are a couple more awaiting editing. I was also asked to do a few profile pieces on new companies in the crypto/blockchain space, so that will be cool. I’ll keep you posted.
I’m still going strong on LinkedIn. It’s so much fun to post and interact there every day. If you’re on the platform, connect with me! I publish a newsletter there every Tuesday called the Leadership Field Guide. You can subscribe! Above is my logo in giant form. This was the post this week.
Whatever you do on your next day off, try and stop for a bit. Stop and watch traffic go by or sit in a cafe window and people watch. Whatever it is, leaving your tech at home will help - at least not on the table! We’re always rushing to the next thing.
Take a rest. Pet your pets. Slow down; it’s okay. Have a great weekend out there.
Until next time.
Peace,
Kit
You captured the sadness we all feel as you described sitting alone on your couch wondering why not me. Just perfect. Thanks.
