Hey friends,
Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything just went wrong? Your calendar was full of plans, and then all of a sudden, it came crashing down around you? I’ve had one of those weeks.
Your plans tumble to the ground like broken glass.
A few days ago, I stood in the middle of the grocery store looking for cheese. Not just any cheese. French, goat feta cheese. What on earth? I was so frustrated that I had to take a lap around the store, take some deep breaths, and regroup. Why are there so many choices? WTF?
Other shoppers stood in my way, and store employees stocked shelves at a furious pace. I didn’t know if I should scream, cry, or just lay down in the middle of the store.
My husband is in charge of all the food in the house, but he was home sick, so here I was trying to find a needle in a haystack. Finally, I found it.
Once the food was purchased and all my plans were canceled, I settled into a week of nothing. Then I realized that my house was dirty, the dog was dirty, and I should probably go for a run - one day at a time.
Sometimes things get all-consuming. We want everything done right now, but that’s just not how it works. After a good night’s sleep, I got up and started checking things off my list.
Little by little, we rise.
Things can get super-overwhelming this time of year, and with Omicron surging, forget it. Your week may just go in the trash can. Let it. You’ll get back to it next week, and everyone will understand. Take a walk outside and leave your phone at home.
Take care of yourselves this weekend, and care for those you love. Until next time.
Peace,
Kit

Oh, I love the image of laying down in the middle of the grocery store!! We all smile knowingly because we have all been there.
I hope everyone is feeling better! I flip back and forth between some sort of zen-like acceptance of all of the upheaval, and bursting into flames at even the smallest of schedule changes.
Maybe 2022's the year the pendulum comes to rest in the middle?
