Dear Travelers,
It has been quite a week! So busy and all really good. Check it out…
I stopped in to get my hair cut today. Okay, no big deal. Why are you telling us this, Kit? Because the last time I got my hair cut - two months ago or so - I was having the worst day ever. I spent two hours at the vet, my dog was limping and we didn’t know why, my car was hit in the parking lot, and I got in a fight with a loved one right before the appointment. It sucked. I was on the verge of tears as I walked into that salon and that, for me, is saying a lot. It takes so much to get me to that point.
Today I walked in there with much better news on my side. I was included in this LinkedIn group where we promote each other’s work, an article I wrote was finally accepted into a Medium publication that has rejected me countless times, and the best part? My dog is doing much better! Not limping. No one knows why and I don’t care. I was beaming when I walked in there today.
Life is made up of crazy twists and turns, man. We just never know what days will be terrible and which ones will be great. It’s all part of being human, I guess.
When those bad days come all we can really do is breathe and move through them. Drink water. Get to bed early. It’s so hard. It’s always like one thing after another. It’s easier said than done but that is really the only way. The only way out is through, right?
When you have an awesome day or week, bask in it for a moment. I’m terrible at that. As soon as my article got accepted I paused for like 2 minutes, just sitting there smiling, and then I was like welp, back to work. That’s so lame! Just allow yourself to shine for a moment. Tell someone about it. “Look everyone! Check it! I just did that!” (I’m terrible at that too but working on it).
The next time you have a terrible day, see it, give yourself permission to have all the feelings about it, and move on to the next day because it could be great! And when it is, let everybody shine with you!
Whatever your weekend brings you, I hope it is amazing! It is crazy hot here. Stay cool out there. Lay low and drink some lemonade. Hang out with people you like. Or with no one. It’s all good.
Peace,
Kit
Oh yes! We can't predict those ups and downs. Thanks!
