A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. - Community defined.
Dear Travelers,
There has been so much input into my brain this month…I haven’t had time to breathe or sort it out. Do you ever feel like that? I am, however, surrounded by amazing communities.
I was invited to be a part of a LinkedIn group where we post on the platform for 30 days straight. I applied on a whim. The organizer arranged everything rather quickly and we all jumped in. We became this instant community. We post every day and comment on each person’s post to hopefully boost our content higher in the feed. Okay, that makes sense. But this group of people I am now connected with is so amazing! There are people from all over the world, with different backgrounds, different ages, and different expertise. It’s so cool! Everyone is super supportive. It’s like we are all each other’s personal cheering squad.
It got me thinking about communities.
There are so many communities that we belong to: our hometown, our work, our hobbies, our pets. Even our coffee shops and the teams we root for. We add communities throughout our lives and leave others. We choose what serves us and then we may let it go. It’s really beautiful.
Communities are fluid, like water. We find one, we leave another.
I’ve met the coolest people just by having a dog. I started writing and that opened a door into a world of thousands of supportive cohorts. Even though I may never meet some of these people face to face, we are still a community. I can open my computer and there they are, all of them, rooting me on.
Think about all of the communities you move through each day. Think about the support you give and receive. You make each one stronger by your presence. Each support system makes us…well…more us. We learn something about ourselves and we teach others. It’s the human experience and we wouldn’t quite be us without it.
Enjoy your weekend and enjoy all the communities that you are a part of. I’m so honored that you’ve chosen this publication as one of them. Take care and be well.
Peace,
Kit
What a perfect concept to contemplate for these times! Thanks!
