As someone who earned a “gold hat” from Fred Turner university, along with the standard Bachelor of Hamburgerology…this shit show if a campaign is the stupid thing ever. And it offends my career and all the work I have done.
Shut down a store, stand in the drive thru window, and answer questions from reporters.
I have an MBA now and accolades from several different business sectors, but I look at this guy and say: why would you follow him!?!?
Thank you for saying the things we are all thinking. The retail (and food service) dance we do so effortlessly others can not even fathom. His stunt is just another performance and an example of how little respect he has for pretty much everyone.
Idk this post feels a little disconnected from one of your previous ones where you highlighted Top Execs at Home Depot for spending a day in the stores: "It's great that Home Depot is making this move. Do they need to work in stores more than four times a year? Absolutely. However, this mandate is a substantial step in the right direction, and I hope more retail giants follow their lead. When executives can genuinely work the floor, work alongside a sales associate, and be open to hearing about what's not working, the company will gain massive insight. No doubt." I don't see how this is much different. He is seeing first hand what it's like to work a fast food shift. Yes, he learned that you don't use your hands when serving fries. Maybe that was eye opening and an honest reaction because these politicians really DON'T know what it's like to work fast food. My hope is it gave him a different perspective and a greater appreciation for the hard workers that serve the American people every day. That's really all we can hope.
He was there to take photos, not to learn about the needs of the people on the frontline. Every move he makes is about him. That's the difference.
The Home Depot execs are spending time in stores to learn how they can support the business. Trump went to put on a costume and play pretend. It won't give him an honest perspective because he doesn't care. If he really wanted to learn anything, he would've visited a store that was open and serving actual customers. But he didn't. It was 100% staged.
The Home Depot execs are working in stores that are open & helping customers & talking to leaders. They're not visiting a closed store, shaking hands, and taking pictures. Know what I mean?

Loved every second of this read! You may want to start a political blog, you got this in spades!
I can’t add one more thing right now, Jess. 😅
This is the best political rallying call I have ever read to the real people who matter. The workers. I had tears at the end. Beautiful!!!!!!

Thanks for your comment, Jaci.
