Travel in the fall is definitely rad! I always try and take a week around this time of year. As someone that has to fly standby, the loads are usually lighter and chances of getting where you want go higher.
This year, my son's HS soccer team was busy making a deep run into the playoffs, and our vacation consisted of "traveling" to his stadium for games, and driving to another one yesterday. Not exactly glamorous, but absolutely bonkers, and a week I wouldn't trade for anything.
